THE STORY OF...CARLOS GRANADOS, GEVOLUNTEER
It all amounted to six months of “Dolce Vita” where not a single day passed by without me learning something new: how to appreciate gelato, what the difference between coffee and coffee is, or how to bring my hand gestures to the next level.
The beauty of it all hit me as I sadly boarded the plane back home: regardless of where I went next, Italy would always come with me. The great thing about Erasmus is that you gain a unique perspective－one that is heavy with meaning but fits your every suitcase and adds no excess weight. Befriending inspiring people from all around the world, learning a new language, feeling home away from home…the initial curiosity that led me to go abroad in the first place entailed so much more than what I had anticipated. It changed my life.
I am still in love with the Italian culture, and wholeheartedly believe in how this Europe of ours is a wonderful thing. Grazie mille, Pisa!
